Abstract
My monograph aims to provide reders with a readable and accessible introduction to Spain over the last century, with particular emphasis on developments since the death of Franco. The country?s social, economic and political transformation are covered in a clear, concise and authoritative fashion. Current developments are placed in their historical context and the process by which Spain has been able to establish its position within the European Union and beyond are considered. Seeking to provide readers with a knowledge of key elements of contemporary Spain, the jargon-free book aims to eschew complexity, whilst nevertheless providing an informative, thought-provoking work which stands on its own merits as well serving as the foundation for further study.
