Abstract
We are designing and developing lipid-polyamines based upon aminoglycoside cationic head-groups linked to a lipid moiety, e.g. cholesterol, for the efficient delivery of genes for gene therapy, and also for the delivery of siRNA to knock-down gene expression. The conjugation of neomycin B to cholesterol provides an "intelligent" material which may well overcome problems found in poly-nucleic acid delivery.
