Abstract
Barium titanate-silver particulate composites were prepared by attrition milling BaTiO3 and silver nitrate, followed by conventional processing. After manufacture, microstructural, mechanical and electrical characterisation was undertaken to examine the influence of silver addition on properties. The effect of the addition of conductive inclusions in a capacitive matrix on properties, such as permittivity, was simulated using a random network of resistors and capacitors. Model results were compared with experimental results.
