Abstract

The effective material parameters of the 3-3 piezocomposites are estimated using constitutive equations corresponding to the thickness-mode oscillations of a piezocomposite plate resonator. The dielectric constant ( ε 33 T / ε 0 ), piezoelectric coefficients (d 33 , d 31 , d h , g h and e 33 ), stiffness coefficient ( c 33 E ), electrical impedance spectrum, electromechanical thickness-mode coupling coefficient (k t ), acoustic impedance (Z aco ) of the 3-3 composites are evaluated as a function of piezoceramic/polymer volume fraction. The results are compared with the experimental data. © 2002 Taylor and Francis.
