Abstract

Virtual clinics are conceived as a mechanism to bring rare or inaccessible but authentic practice-based learning opportunities to healthcare professionals studying on professional programmes at a distance, including overseas. The poster reports on a learning intervention, initiated in 2005 and currently an integral part of a postgraduate programme delivered predominantly online. It looks at the design, development and delivery of an online PBL process, the use of mediated communications and e-tivities and evaluates the learners’ experience as well as that of the online tutor/ facilitators.
