Abstract

Various 1,2,5-substituted pyrroles were synthesized from 1,4-alkynediols using a ruthenium-catalyzed isomerization to give the corresponding 1,4-dicarbonyl compds., which undergo in situ cyclization to pyrroles in the presence of amine.
